They Write Ghazals, Do Quawwallis, Do Shayaris, But Why Are They Conservative?
They do quawwallis
Choric songs
highly pitched or
With the falling accent
Dancingly, jollily
On the stage,
Do shayaris
Lyrical poetry
In a sing-song tone
Addressed to love and beauty
and the sense of wonder and astonishment,
Write ghazals
The slow-moving reminiscent
Poetry in couplets and rhyming,
But why are they conservative
And bigoted,
I think?
