They Will Be Watching Poem by Andrew Benton

They Will Be Watching

They will be watching
When you are at your best.

They will be with you
The days you need your rest.

They will surround you
In tenderness and love;
In endless hope and hopeless joy
Which descends from above.

The innate wisdom of their beings
Is not for men to know,
And yet an untold love of life
Is theirs to freely show.

Their wings are strong and supple
As the night’s angelic dew—
When neither strength nor sorrow fades
They will remember you.
