The Wishing Star Poem by neeti bhatt

The Wishing Star

Rating: 5.0

We were walking on a silent road one day,
Too embarrassed with the confession to have words to say...
A slow stroll in the moonlit night,
The destination was the seclusion of the zenith's light!

My heart fluttered with hope for a new beginning,
The beginning that accompanied the road's last bending,
Fervently thanked the cupid that brought this along,
He sat somewhere weaving the tune for the next love song!

Blessed the wishing star for listening to what I had to say,
But violent storms blew night and day!
At times I wished you had never crossed my path.
Always regretted them in the aftermath!

As the storm blew out, leaving as eerie silence in its wake,
A noiseless bassoon to the upcoming quake!
My dreams all seemed glassy and fake,
A shadowy reflection at the bottom of the lake! !

The last bending did not end in the zenith's light,
You just walked away, out of sight!
Now as I walk on the silent road today,
I cursed the wishing star for hearing the only wish in which I wished you away!
