The Long Wait Poem by neeti bhatt

The Long Wait

Rating: 5.0

As a new day dawned at the horizon,
Early morning dreams had taken such definite upturns
A smile played at my lips, lighting my eye
Eager to see you, my enthusiasm refused to die! !

Thinking about you and nothing beyond I thought
In your thoughts my expressions were caught,
The positivity spread all around me
Who knew that it just wasn’t meant to be!

Time of your arrival was way past,
But my hope couldn’t catch up with the truth that fast!
You didn’t turn up, I have no clue why?
I was too hopeful too even cry!

I was missing your presence hugely,
Almost a physical pain, your absence hurt me largely
Though I knew you weren’t there
Hope is too difficult to tear! ! !

I waited and waited for long enough
Till the moon was up I did my stuff
Waited for you to come and be
I stared at the moon and it stared back at me! !
