The Weight On My Shoulders Poem by Matthew Buck

The Weight On My Shoulders

Rating: 5.0

There is a great weight on my shoulders, but it's not mine alone to bear,
To me it represents freedom, but others see despair.

There is a great weight on my shoulders, it weighs 125 pounds,
Some say that it's too heavy and I need to put it down.
I tell them that I can't and its power is so profound.

There is a great weight on my shoulders; it's made from a piece of wood,
Others see it as bad, but all I see is good.

There is a great weight on my shoulders; it once stood on Calvary,
Now it dwells among us, a light for all to see.

There is a great weight on my shoulders; some say it's just a tree,
But because of its atonement, I live eternally.

There is a great weight on my shoulders; some say it's just a Cross,
But when I use it in my battles, Satan gets the loss.

If there's a great weight on your shoulders, it's not yours alone to bear,
Go running towards my Jesus, and say a little prayer.
His arms are stretched wide open, He's waiting, and He cares.

When you choose to do this; you are not alone,
Welcome to the family, fellow heir to the throne.
