The Wave Poem by Jared Bradford

The Wave

*these are lines im using for song lyrics, it's not a straight poem

Started with an 'excuse me miss,
can you find your way from here? '
She says 'No boy, no I can't
Will you please stay near? '
It's like a tidal wave of words
Coming out of their mouths
Not only words, but
Kissing like shes his spouse
They got oh so very hot
Taking on the summers heat
Saying 'No matter what song love plays
You'll always be my favorite beat'

So don't, don't let that go to waste
Don't let it go, turn and face }Chorus
Always knew what not to do
But the things they knew, they were few

The summer's heat passed
They never knew, it wouldn't last
Now it's oh so cold and gray
Saying 'maybe tomorrows a better day'
Nothing to do, so they just lay in bed
Wondering in her head, what is next?
He whispers that he loves her
But he's probably only looking for sex
What started as a question
Has turned around to much more
If he had a dime for every 'love'
Maybe he wouldn't for so f**kin poor

So just, just let it go
It's such a waste }chorus
If you only knew one thing in life
It's that nothing lasts forever, right?

She whispers back in his ear
'If I never spend another cold day
Calling you mine
I'd live out my days, being just fine'
Oh but he says her hearts..
colder than the day
Or maybe he just didn't like gettin served
Suddenly he's lost his tidal wave of words
He always always thought he had that wave
To always go ahead and sink a fleet of ships
But she let it go
And she took back her poker chips
& I guess you can say the wave never returned
and so she says 'If I never spend another gray day
Calling you mine, I'd go to the grave
Dying just fine'
And her wave sank him deep
He can no longer breath
So he just prays to wake up in heaven
So he prays he is forgiven

And he just let it go
