The Wait Poem by Mammatli Molefi

The Wait

Rating: 5.0

I know the sun shines the brightest after the storm
You are my rainbow
The wait echoed thunder bolts
But you sure are worth all the pain
I missed me
I missed how it felt to be real

At home

In love without care
Without reason but just do
You are everything I had imagined
Just like me from your ribs
The wait was worth the pain
The thought of you kept me sane

My prize

I thought I knew you, deserved you
Belonged to you, only you
The wait was not in vain
Building castles in the air
With horses and warrior knights
Wished the winds blew your way

And brought you home
