The Virus Called Love Poem by Imafidon Mac Henry

The Virus Called Love

I'd look at the moon
I'd locate the stars
I'd sound it to their ears
If they were humans
Her picture eradicated not
Countless times have I died trying
All I'd get was the beautiful universe
I gazed at through the window
She is the universe I long for
Continuous heart beats like a drum
When she's near
A cynosure to stare
I'm a wanderer immune
to this virus called love
When men silently sleep
Sleeplessness engrossed my thoughts
I got awaken against nature
As I hug her in a twinkle of an eye
Captivating fictions of the mind
Imaginations in top gear
For a flashback that doesn't exist
I wish my voice could be heard
I wish her sight could see me
pronounce her name over and over again
I wish she'd mine.
