The Truth Poem by Lexy Breit

The Truth

It was all a lie
It was like driving a car on a smooth road
Hitting that little bump
Moving on back to the smooth surface
More bumps come along just like the lies
The gravel comes along
Pulling me in every direction
Not knowing which to follow
Another car comes along like the people
Picking the wrong path
I collide and the only walls keeping me safe fall apart
Everything happened so quickly
My eyes are blurry trying to find the truth
Finally remembering how the crash came about
I see everything now
My eyes are clear
I now know
The truth
