The Troubled Nation Builder Poem by Renson Opati

The Troubled Nation Builder

Today I did my share in building a troubled nation.
I treated myself with a sudden yet necessary inflation of my account,
In fact, to a loan from a local money lending firm.

The terms and conditions reflected its importance,
A firm indication of the pocket-friendly rates,
That reflected monthly interest rates,
And a firm declaration to abide by the decorated penal petals,
A small fine just in case the loan proves too delicious,
To add the ice of this fine cake was that flower-thorn incentive,
A small transaction fee to avail this important money and make it usable,
And another bee-sting just in case I decide to refund.

I treated myself with a comfortable repayment,
It chocked several times at the back of my mind,
Then to keep me alive, another small aid was necessary,
Another friendly loan to cover the previous,
As I intelligently search for another for this one,
And secretly gambling away the previous two,

Truth be told,
The pain we go through to see this nation grow,
The efforts from the Unemployed Unionists,
Who, by the way, ensure that the rich government of the people by the people is rich and running,
To see our roads black and our cities walking tall,

Later, I attended an friends final fairy tail,
Tormented as he tried to build his nation
But the quest was unfriendly,
He discovered the new use of the insecticide,
To eliminate the worms that tormented his stomach,
But the unfortunate nation builder freezed his talent,
Leaving the few to maintain the spirit,

So the nation builder,
Arrived home this evening,
With several painkillers and a knotted rope,
The results of building the nation a new way
