The Tower Poem by colleen brennan

The Tower

La maison Dieu
Placed in hand
The monarch butterfly
Change
Speed
Insight

Struck by lightening
Spiritual awakening
Blind in the ICU
I heard the voice of
GOD

The tower is on fire
Construction is my career
I built and forged
A thousand walls deep
On fire now blazing the sky

I am responsible for the
Hunger in my belly
Fear overwhelms the
Mental torment through
Distracting chains

I pull to the left
Towards the man
With muscular build
I pull to the right
Towards the broken
Heart that I think
I can heal

A hook latches in my back
A Russian teaches me to
Bind the book,
To preserve the art
That is sacred

Romanian saved me
From a demonic witch
Placing rat poison
In my food

The moon knows me
Better than the sun
My broken heart
Had led me to her beauty

Every night
I walked to the lake
Climbed up great big chair
Sat with her my mother moon
And she played with my hair
