The Story Of A King Poem by Matin Bairagi

The Story Of A King

Rating: 5.0

The king was eaten up by his servile dogs when he was in deep sleep
in an opportune night They ate everything and the king
Then, nothing was visible but the little bones of his thoughts kept in the burrow of an asoka* tree standing afar

The king had been living lonely
In an isolated fort encircled by sharp babed wires
The king of the mass was lonesome being encircled by flutterers andcould not have room to think over where to go
The power and kingship made him dethroned and threw in solitude He could not even sense the difference of day and night
since the animals were always putting their tails in action The subjects could only gaze upon the large fort
andthe pack of dogs on its walls But were barred to reach there
Only the dogs could move in and out
Thus the king became isolated from power and beauty Then he was eaten up by his servile dogs
Whenthere was no moon in the dark and dejected sky
After many years
The historians will compile with exaggeration this story of the king and his separation
Withoutcitation of the people, who loved the king
And whom they always treat an omitted chapter of history

* asoka: kind of tree that bloom deep red flower
