The Search Poem by Elisha De La Rosa

The Search

Day and night
are like seconds
of this life
This search depends on my life, I reckon

For I ride the dirt
And I ride on the tides
Of the open sea
To find the northern lights

I ride on wind's back
Searching the clouds for you
For I lack
The happiness you once put through

I searched through heaven and hell
I searched the inside and outside
Of darkness inside this cell
Which our feelings had bind

I ride the metal casket
Which sends me to the black void
Kept all my happiness till your basket
Is full. For the feelings I put on line for you

I keep on looking for you
In light or darkness that comes through
Kept on looking for you in my memories
Kept on finding you in my dreams

I keep on searching
For the sign of your remembrance
Even if you are far away, waiting
I must go the distance

I will continue on
For generations to come
The search for you waste time
For my happiness is on the line
