The Screen Poem by Julie Smith

The Screen

Four walls
Just a fragment of this world
Keeping you from hearing its calls

A shade of white
A square in pale
Deafening the nightingale

The window's glass can not be broken
Staring through the lucent screen
You do not see
The door is open

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Actually I wanted this poem to be less personal, but I realized it is. It could be about not seeing that everything you want is before you because you just stare at a dead screen and focus on everything you see blindly. Freedom is just a step away :)

Yes, we should always look the open door, and don't just get ourselves walled in!
