the great expanse
of the night sky
consuming darkness
pin holes of light
trying to escape
and find another light
to make each other stronger
help fight back the dark
like we found each other
you and I
creating brilliance
to drown the darkness
to forever hold back the night
no longer afraid
we can look to the stars
and see the light beauty
so now the dark
is just a background
the canvas
of what is to come
