The River Poem by Max D. Hornbogen

The River

The river flows down stream, yet I see the stars shining brightly up above.
The brightness of the moon shines clearly over me.

Oh I see the stars above, everything seems so calm.
The river flows down the stream, in the cold black night.
Yet still I see the moon oh so clearly.

From a distance, I see your smile. That laughter you gave filled in the spaces
In-between.

So the river flows, down the stream in the cold black night.
Yet the moon shines clearly over me.

I do see myself in the night walking around.
Just feeling the cold air with my hands, oh that moon shines clearly over me.
I hear the sounds in the night, as that river flows down that stream.

I hear your voice in my head, as if it was trying to say something?
But all I can see is your smile, and then your laughter is what I loved.

I felt warmness going through me, as if you were holding me close to your heart.
Oh the moon shines clearly over me, I see now I walked this path with you in my heart.
