The Ring Master Poem by Maverick Jones

The Ring Master

You're the leader in our circus.
She the lion tamer,
I the last act.

At your call she sends the lions in action.
At your call, I let them come.
I take the attacks for foolish action-
I take it all for you.

We do this waltz of love and hate-
Life and death.
I stood in the ring to take them on.
The Lions and their Tamer.

I took them on as you watched us.
Orchestrating the tension and the hate.
Pinning all on me for the sake of your show.
The Ring Master.
