The Righteous Alone Are Wise Poem by Dr John Celes

The Righteous Alone Are Wise

Change your hair's color, you can
But not your earthly life-span;
Change body's odor, you can,
But not heart's true nature, man!

Pretend you can and act sane;
Show the world you are humane;
Appear you may to walk right lane
But then all boon becomes a bane!

Cheat you may your kith and kin;
In life, all games, you may win;
Fill you may stomach with gin
But sin is always a sin.

No virtue can become a vice;
Heed you may not to good advice;
Iin life you may move in disguise;
If righteous you can then be wise;
