The Puzzle -Part-I Poem by Ratnakar Mandlik

The Puzzle -Part-I

Rating: 5.0

</>Chitragupta thundered looking at me the criminal
Can you give a reason that has made a disciple
Of crime out of you oh pollutted soul
Why did not you remain to humanism loyal?

At the master's voice shivered the soul feeble
And though being self possesed I began to tremble.
Leaning before the master I said in humble voice
Forgive me oh lord I had no option or a choice.

When incarnated pure I was as any one
A living embodiment of innocence.
No where I could find filth in human mind
I thought them to be selfless residents of paradise.

Ere I could cross teenage and cussdom
I myself was a victim of a worldly meann mind
The experiences through which I had to pass then
Were more than enough to change my conceptions.

I was forced to notice filth in human minds
Nowhere but in my own love's mind.
So greatly shocked I was & totally dejected
With my own self & the world in which I lived.

No option or a choice is left. Either you behold or forgive. Perceiving the world with own self is wise ever. This poem is very brilliantly penned..10

Dear Ratnakar ji, A brilliant analysis of the self through the piercing eyes of Chitragupta. Chitragupta is an enigmatic character in the Hindu mythology who questions the deeds of every man who is born on this earth. Only when we reach the gates of heaven, we realise the flaws of our life. Really enjoyed reading this poem. Let me now read part 2
