Temple Of Democracy Poem by Ratnakar Mandlik

Temple Of Democracy

Rating: 4.9

Human conceptualized the best Polity
For superb governance, is the democracy
That ensures for every one equal opportunity
Desisting in any form rule of any dynasty.

Legislature, judiciary, bureaucracy n press
Are four pillars on which rests its' edifice.
Most sacred sanctum is the Parliament
Of its' temple n it is not for entertainment.

Honesty, integrity, empathy and sincerity
Be qualifications for a Parliamentarian
Not less than a priest to be for egalitarian
Society's inception and benefit to majority.

A pious duty on every one it entrusts
To ensure the qualifications, in him they must.

Honesty, integrity, empathy and sincerity Be qualifications for a Parliamentarian Even if we have a few good guys, what can they do in the corrupt democracy of India and other countries of such nature! ! We want the best but we have all evils!

A lovely depiction of government of the people, by the people, and for the people. A well articulated piece of poetry, nicely encapsulated and insightfully penned with conviction. A beautiful poem with good rhyme scheme. Thanks for sharing Ratnakar. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
