The Price I Pay Poem by Diana Americano

The Price I Pay

in the sea
i can no longer see
the you i thought i knew
we fade away
but why is it we have to pay
pay for our mistakes
our pain
our misery
you let me fall
so i pull myself along
crawling
crying
tears flow down
i look for you
only to find a frown
upon your beautiful face
let me in
i beg of you!
let me live my way
its my own fault if i fall
but you push me away
and i cry once more
i realize that you are gone
and i lie to myself
that you will come back
you will say hello
and we will be at peace
with all souls
and death will pay the price.
