The Prevernal Flowers Of North America Poem by Hebert Logerie

The Prevernal Flowers Of North America

Winter was quasi in agony, on his death bed
When cool spring showed up with her rainbow
The buds of the tulips had on their gigantic bow
Ice flakes that resemble pollen over their head.

Spring is gaily smiling. Suddenly, it gets darker
Much later. The children will invest more time
In the park. The birds will also spend more time
Singing and searching for food and better shelter.

The prevernal flowers, like the tulips and the daffodils
Are already here. Nothing is absolutely perfect but deals
Are being made. The wee flies are here too in the garden.

Mother Nature is delighted when the air is fresh, when
The rain starts sprinkling as though the bare trees were
Thawing. Spring is much more fun when love is in the air.
