The Politically Incorrect Little Girl: Don't Forget Me Poem by Bryan Taplits

The Politically Incorrect Little Girl: Don't Forget Me

Rating: 5.0

I cry out loud at times
And still no one sees my soul
Also my voice is thin and reedy
(Or so I have been told) .
But no matter what the scam
And no matter what I do
I'm sure that I'm better than I think I am
(At least, I think that's true) .
I recall:
Once I crossed the street-
I checked and saw both ways-
All while dreaming
how grand I'd be one day-
in my future wistful ways.
But cars they honked and beeped;
I ran and ran and ran-
And all I thought was, 'Success I‘ve am'-
'They've stopped ignoring me! '
Oh, how I wish I were a man
My voice a timbered hew
I'd conquer every land
-at the very least! ! -
That my courage led me to.
And though I know I remain a girl-
A woman-in my fleece-
I also know one well-timed day
-if myself I stay-
I'll tame that hairy beast.
