The People Who I Consider Family Poem by John Leo

The People Who I Consider Family

There are very few who I love
Only three in fact
But these three have done a lot for me
Even though some might say that they were small things
To me they were very big things
The first one is named Leon
He out of all people saw who I truly am
He looked past the part of me that pushed people away from
He looked past my problems
He didn't pity me
He listened to me
Which in the end saved my life
He also lets me be me
He knows very well that I'm gay
And he knows very well that I like him
And even though he isn't gay
He told me that it's okay that I like him
He told that I have to start trust others more
Which in turn opened my eyes to two other people
He is a true friend
The second one is named Jasmine
She is the only friend I have
Who can actually write poetry
She also knows about love
She helped me understand it more
It's still very very confusing
But she guided me through some of it
And even though she does weed and probably a few other things
She is still a very good person
Another great friend
And last but not least is Christ
He is the only friend I have who isn't wise
He's like no one I know
But even though he can't always offer advice
He will still listen to me
He will still joke with me
And he will still annoy me each and every day
Just with a simple hello
But yet I don't mind
Because in turn I get to annoy him till the end of time
He has been my wall from time to time
These are all people who I would die for
Because they are the only ones who helped me when I needed it
I love you Leon
I love you Jasmine
And I don't love you Christ(okay I'm kidding I love you)
These are the people I consider family
