The Penguin Poem by Kaitlyn Ash

The Penguin

White. All around is white. We live in big groups. We love to slide everywhere we go. We all stay close together when it's cold. As we walk, our little orange feet crunch on the hard ground. Killer whales are our worst fear. We are the only birds who can fly. Under water, that is. We are Penguins.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
When I was in 7th grade, I took a writing for enjoyment class. Every day we had to make a short story or poem about whatever we wanted to. On this particular day I chose Penguins.
