The One Who Does Laugh Poem by Francis Duggan

The One Who Does Laugh

The one who does laugh in the face of despair
And never complain once that life is unfair
Though she or he of late have been doing it tough
Never complain though life's journey is rough
A brave one indeed a child of the lesser gods
Who life has condemned for to battle the odds
Who can manage to smile despite poverty
This person is a heroine or a hero to me
It is easy to smile for those that things are going their way
Who never have known of a bad financial day
It is the one who can smile though financially down
And walk with a smile on the streets of the town
Though of hardship in life of they only do know
Such people do possess the bright inner glow.
