The One That Got Away Poem by Hajar Lazim

The One That Got Away

Rating: 5.0

He got sweets but it was salty
A blind rage like a fire swept over him
He ran away
But he could not flee

At the end of the jetty
He planned to flee
But he was still
As he met the open wide sea

Swoosh, Swoosh,
The tide was wavering
Looking at him closely
Again-
At the end of the jetty
He planned to flee

He paused to look at the scenery
He forgot about his misery
Temporarily-
He could listen to the sound of the waves

The smells of ancient infinity
It was singing to him loudly
But only to get his stifling sweat away
He thank The Almighty
For creating such a picturesque

His life was bittersweet and bleak
But he knew
There is so much possibilities
So he push his anxiety
And back to reality.
