The Old Man, Me

Rating: 5.0

One, too old to lay eggs— a chicken,
How they eye— wondering as to when,
Expecting me to die
Any time— willing sky,
Oh the way man turns old in his den!

Look at what is happening in countries where populations are ageing and the proportion of old people go up. India gradually inching up to that situation. And with life-style changing one can imagine the plight of old left to their own devices. Being an old man myself, I wrote the piece first person. Thank you for sympathising! ! !

An amazing limerick! Sir, you most probably belong to poetess Valsa Geroge's school of Limericks! I enjoy reading these kind of works......10

Thank you indeed Dr Swain. Poets use a lot of metaphors and comparisons, and yet, comparisons are best avoided as they say. Life is full of contradictions, and that I think is the beauty of life.
