The Now Poem by Francis Duggan

The Now

How come memories of our happier times bring us close to tears
As we remember the good times in the long gone years
But the past gone forever only true for to say
And we can only live in the now and the now is today
On looking back the years time seems to have gone fast
And all we have left are memories of the past
But memories of the past are like memories of the dead
We can only live in the now and the future is ahead
Tomorrow will dawn but not for everyone
Does not matter what you have achieved in life or what great things you have done
Every day we do live one nearer to our last
Make the most of the now and try to learn from the past
Yesterday just a memory of what was and gone
We can only live in the now and life does go on.

We can only live in the now and life does go on. You are very right. Present time is very powerful. This is an interesting poem well penned.
