The Non Existent Road Poem by shra wan

The Non Existent Road

Which road should I walk,
if no roads lead to you
which song should i listen to,
if no song resonates with your voice
Which temple should i visit,
if i'm not in your prayers

like a shadow, like a flicker
you are, you are not
now and then i think,
if only the beauty in you
could conceal the flaws in me

what chance would i stand
you, the glimpse of divine
me, the non existent self
i can't offer you much
all i can promise is permanence

more i learn about you
the more i cease to exist
you exist in me
and will always do
about me, i shall exist in your bhajans
the ones i haven't heard

lines crept on my eyes
as i pressed them harder
to get a glimpse of you,
borrowed immortality to walk by you
just to realize that the road never existed
