Heartbroken Island Poem by shra wan

Heartbroken Island

all my neurons
all the narratives it set
all the biases i had
all of it vanished
as if it never existed

One word from you
and i was silenced forever
With everything i had
And everything i ceased to have
I looked back at you

Never had i prayed for anything
here, every cell of mine begged your presence
my soul craved for yours
but all i found was despair

all the long walks,
moon watching, sunsets
all the promises you made
all the unanswered prayers

now in retrospect
I realize that I'd got the game wrong
I was the island
you were the sea
fool i was to think
you were just mine
