The Night Is Blue Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

The Night Is Blue

The night is blue
not dark
to-night a vast
drop of oil
hangs from the heavens
a vast soap-bubble
a vast figure light
amidst the heaviness
hanging:
these images
these thoughts
are not as of the day
but
as of night
and dreams
when all
bodies equal are
they sleep
whether king or president
or humble worker:
and
the night is blue
not dark
to-night a vast
drop of oil
hangs from the heavens
a vast soap-bubble
