Amanda, you did the Inaugural beautifully
Today, you'll be doing the Super Bowl superbly
Wow! You go girl: I wish you the very best
Because millions of football fans will, at last
To say the least
Read, hear and enjoy the poetry of football
What a beautiful feast!
This is a win-win situation for poetry, novelty
Literature, class, style, intelligence and literacy
Millions of young boys, girls and adults will be reciting
Countless poems while playing football: throwing
Touchdowns, scoring three or six points, playing defense
Or offense, while greatly improving
Their vocabulary and literary acumen. What a chance
For the literary world to evolve! Football fans
And football players love poetry too. Bring the fans
Because it's getting hot. The quarterback of the opposing
Team just fumbled and the linebacker just scored
A touchdown. Therefore, no one will be bored
When a Poet recites a poem. This is awesome! Ring, ring
Keep on ringing the bells: long live football, long live Poetry!
That's a wonderful union of sheer emotions and ecstasy
May the best team win the Super Bowl!
Oh! Amanda already captured or won the country's soul.
