The Morning After Live Aid Poem by chris orton

The Morning After Live Aid

This dawn brought me a day like no other before this
The gentlest of caresses by the sun fought off the pre-dawn gloom
Breathing it soul into all corners of the room
A burnished copper glow surrounded us with its gentle warm kiss

To my right you lay ready to give me life anew
I looked at your naked body swimming in this liquid golden dawn
I already thought I loved you but this juvenile taste of love was chased this morn.
You showed me the beauty of creation, in the beauty of you

A deep understanding of perfection displayed to me in your form so whole
A seed sank deep into me and quickly took root
Taking control of all it touched, rending other emotions mute

Carefully it moved with strength etching your image on my soul
To have you by my side a piece flawless nature
I spent an hour looking at you and knew my life was yours.
