The Mormon Heart Beat Poem by J. D. Martin

The Mormon Heart Beat

Are we worthy are we worthy
Is how the Mormon heart beat goes.
The thought of hell is no worry
To be a god is the goal.

Joseph is their prophet
And Christ the son of Gods
But they yell that we are Christians
We believe the word of God.

While this is certainly true
Is there faith in this enough?
We both know it isn't true
You can throw away your bluff.

We are the same we are the same
Then why do knock upon my door?
You teach the gospel's not sufficient
You preach the gospel and theirs more.

But God warned me about
Those who would add to his word.
Who taught they were prophet men
To follow them would be absurd!

My faith is not in men
Or an academic plight.
My faith is alone in him
And the glory of his might
