The Moon And The Stars (Rhyme Royal) Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

The Moon And The Stars (Rhyme Royal)

The moon shone like a giant pearl.
Upon the pristine blue velvet sky,
Like gems letting beauty unfurl
Are stars like diamonds to the eye.

In awe, I watched them with a sigh,
My heart in praise for the Creator,
To know Him's what they were there for.

(The rhyme royal stanza consists of seven lines, usually in iambic pentameter. The rhyme scheme is a-b-a-b-b-c-c. In practice, the stanza can be constructed either as a tercet and two couplets (a-b-a, b-b, c-c) or a quatrain and a tercet (a-b-a-b, b-c-c) .)
