The Marker Poem by Cory Fox

The Marker

Rating: 5.0

Here lies my pride
It gave up the fight
It has not died
It's just out of sight

It seemed so unfair
Our love was upset
I swore not to care
But couldn't forget

Here lies my pain
These words mark the spot
The urges came
The action did not

The marker is there
Let it never be said
Beneath this cold stare
My compassion is dead
