The Majique Of New York [ A Stairstep Acrostical Dectina-Refrain ] Poem by Frank James Ryan Jr...fjr

The Majique Of New York [ A Stairstep Acrostical Dectina-Refrain ]

In
New York,
No one sleeps,
Even Dave Blaine!
Waving Majique sparks-
Your eyes cannot un-masque.
Overlooking, Chrysler's Sphere,
Rising 'neath...... the Empire State;
Know this my friend, an' make no mistake...
.............................................................................,
In New York, No One Sleeps, Even Dave Blaine!

Whooooa! Now, that was differently fun for
a change for those that are unfamiliar with
a Dectina-Refrain, it is a 10 Line poem with
specific requirements...Each Line must also
represent the number of syllables in that line.
IE: Line 1...One Syllable, Line 2...two Syll-
ables, etc....Until you get to the final Line
or Line 10. Line 10 must be a repeat of
Lines 1,2 & 3, which if you constructed your
Syllabic sequence accurately, these 3 Lines
will add up to 10 Syllables. Now, as far as
the acrostic & stairstep parts...this is my
own experiment, and add-on, and it was fun.
The acrostic was easy...However, choosing
words that construct a staircase shape poem
structure...well...that was not as easy!
