The Love Of The Game Poem by Kevin Deckert

The Love Of The Game

Rating: 5.0

I know a name
I know a game
It isn’t as easy as it may look
But you take more than it took
I always train not just to get better,
Not just to train my fetter

But ‘cause it feels so great
To hit a jumper,
cruise through air,
to fake and dribble,
hit the three,
listen the swoosh
when the ball
goes spinning through the net

It is the best game in the world
Nobody needs to say a word
Just let your game say everything
Throw at the basket, let it ting
You don’t need to know the name
Just remember the love of the game
And hope it will always be the same
.......the love of the game

That is definitely how i feel about basketball. Wehenever I'm mad, sad, happy or anything i just love to accomplish something new on the court. The thrill that making one basket gives. That's a really cool poem. keep it up!
