Freedom Poem by Kevin Deckert

Freedom

Rating: 4.2

What is freedom? Nobody knows.
What do I think is freedom?

Freedom is,
when you can do what you like
Without ever hurting somebody

Freedom is,
when you are healthy,
Not trammelled in your bed

Freedom is,
when you are in free charge of your time
And not dominated by a watch

Freedom is,
when you can say what you think
As long as it doesn’t hurt somebody else

Freedom is,
when you can make a mistake
Without getting immediately punished for it

Freedom is,
when you can go and get milk
Whenever you want some

Freedom is,
The one thing we all want to have,
The one thing that none of us really has,
The one thing each of us defines different,
The one thing we will never have………
Freedom is…………a dream

This is wonderful Kevin. Very true, freedom means so many different things to each person around the world. Great job. Sincerely, Mary

I would have to agree with one tap tap...... Most of us only dream of freedom.... And those who think they have freedom.... really dont.... and they know it. And freedom to me will always definitely be a dream as long as there is someone there telling us what to do and when to do it... Love the poem and the realization. Bravo Encore ttyl love, Missy P.S. Freedom isnt free.... from what ive encountered so far

Kevin, a new poet on the scene. freedom? i often wonder what it is. one thing is for sure,70% of the worlds people don't have it and the 30% that do are slowly having it taken away. surely freedom is peace, but is peace relative to the individuality of mankind. it is most definately a dream i recognise the style, powerful, flowing and to the point peace to you my man
