The Lost Poem Poem by Vlad Mutuleanu

The Lost Poem

Once I had a moment
A moment of fantasy
A moment of talent and inspiration
A moment of greatness
The words flowed through me
Like waves on a silent sea
Carrying my feelings
My message for the world to see
That moment was special
Maybe even more
Because somehow
Not only words transcended
But my very heart and soul
On the paper were created
With every press of my pen
A piece of heaven descended
It was like God himself
Wanted my poem to be perfect
So I sat down
And wrote my feelings
Or whatever flowed into my pen
Possessed by whoever
That wanted to make it real
Shortly after the dream ended
And what was in front of me
Was more than art
Or a piece of paper
It was everything
That made my life accomplished
I watched my work with pride
And thanked the angels
For guiding me through every letter
When finally my eyes grew tired
And I fell asleep, contented
But I didn´t know then
That those words of greatness
Only once in a lifetime
Were granted to humans
Their very nature
The reason of our existence
And so I slept contended
Feeling my life perfect
When an angel came into my dream
And from my mind erasing
Those words of greatness
And when I woke into the morning
The words were gone
Along with the paper
Maybe carried by the wind
Into some darken oblivion
With those words gone
And my life normal again
The only wish I had
Was to remember
My last dream of greatness
And from the heaven high above
The angels were watching
Whispering into my ear
Cling to life, keep on running
Search those forgotten words
And only when you find them
Come before us and say
My life is finally completed.
