The Long, Long Wait After Easter! Poem by Denis Martindale

The risen Saviour told His friends to wait until God acts,
Receiving power that never ends, regardless of the facts.
For faith transcends the present truths, for sickness and much more,
So His friends could dismiss such proofs and broken lives restore.
Yet they were told to stay and wait, for God's appointed time,
At Pentecost, to celebrate, God's Spirit so sublime.

Thus miracles were meant to be, with no room left for doubt,
God used the Blood of Calvary to bring such things about.
Forgiveness came upon the crowd that Peter led to Christ,
Forgiveness, when their heads were bowed, and truths were realised.
To think, how God saw Jesus killed, yet through Him saves Mankind,
To kill the awful shame and guilt, with past sins left behind.

While revelation comes and goes according to God's will,
The love of God just overflows and grace continues still.
