The List Poem by Randy McClave

The List

I know that I am on somebody's list
At me I know someone is very pissed,
Someone is mad, which makes them glad
Maybe someone I had loved and kissed.
They want to stay forever mad at me,
Maybe only because I am content and free.

I know that I am on somebody's list
They want to hit me with their fist,
It's not my fault, so I just wait for the assault
As I try peacefully to coexist.
Maybe it's because of them I never did fail,
And then maybe for help they always did yell.

I know that I am on somebody's list
As surely as Adam had heard the snake hissed,
So, I now watch my back, for a surprise attack
As worries I try to ignore and resist.
But, of course I will stay righteous and strong,
Because, I never done anyone any wrong.

I know that I am on somebody's list
Maybe they want me to slit my wrist,
So, they can peacefully go to bed, when they know I'm dead
Maybe only then with their hatred will they desist.
And one fact I know which is factual and true,
They are on God's list too.
