The Lady And Her Love Poem by Lora Colon

The Lady And Her Love

Rating: 5.0

The sun has deserted my sky,
Alas! no beams will descend
To comfort me when a chilling gale
Causes the tall grass to bend

The moon, with anxiety, seeks
Two lovers hidden from view,
He looks for the lady and her love,
But tonight I walk without you

Poor wind, are you preoccupied,
What could you be thinking of?
I hear your mournful cry in the trees:
Lady, tell me, where is your love?

Help me, dear wind, to dry these tears
That darkness can not cover,
Let not one star dare to ask of me:
O lady, where is your lover?

There was a time the angels sang
While on blessed harps they played,
How did the ribbon that tied our hearts
Come to be so tattered and frayed?

Was ours a star too bright to shine,
Did we stir the ire of Fate?
Has a wrathful God exiled our hearts
From Paradise, and closed the gate?

Dark clouds summon rolling thunder,
The wind moves with fearful might,
There'll be no rainbow after this storm,
The lady lost her love tonight

Very nice, Lora. I especially like how you ended it. I think a good ending makes a good poem. Dark clouds summon rolling thunder, The wind moves with fearful might, There'll be no rainbow after this storm, The lady lost her love tonight
