The King Who Drowned In A Fishbowl Poem by Ahmed Sayer

The King Who Drowned In A Fishbowl

At the sundown
It was the breakdown
when diamonds falling from my crown
and the devil dancing with 1000 clowns

They left me on the moon
floating with empty plate and silver spoon
Silence spoke with its loudest tone
'Darkness is the bride & You are the groom'

The savage ghosts rose up from their convex cavity
trapped me in the inevitable mazes of infinity
left me prey to the doom's monstrosity
naked and lost without gravity

I sent a message to the lord
'Get me out of this ultra-gloomy world'
'Don't bring back my gold, just bring me back to my stronghold'
the answer was so bold and I looked for myself to hold

The stomping beats of my heart
carried me through the blind dark
fired me like a glittering dart
leaving my frailty and my fading footmark

But the sky-bells came with a non-stop ring
, the claws of fate clutched my wings
and the hollow souls started to sing
'Let's fling the useless king'

They send me to a tiny hole
fighting the orange ghoul
with no luck and no soul
I am stuck in a fishbowl

From day to day
Hope is fading away
But there's no getaway
as fate still replays my yesterday.
