The Interview Poem by Walter Killeen

The Interview

God approaches each of us in different ways.
To some, He gives the gift of healing.
To others, He gives the gift of tongues.
While working in solitude, I often feel His presence...
and so I asked
As our parent what are some of life's lessons that you want your children to learn
To lean that they can never make Someone love them.
All they can do is let themselves be loved,
To learn that a rich person is not the one who has the most,
But the one who needs the least.
Give freely to others what you, yourself do not need.
Take only what you must. Leave the rest for another.
That there are people that love them dearly.
But do not know how to express it or show their feelings.
To learn that two people can look at the same thing
but see it very differently. Our realities are not the same.
Life is not black and white, but many shades of color.
Many shades of good... Or bad.
To learn that it is not enough for them to forgive one another.
First they must learn to forgive themselves.
Thank you for your time I said to God.
Is there anything else that you would like your children to know
God smiled and said:
Ask and your needs will be met. But in My time...
Just know that I am here by your side
ALWAYS...

It is nice to see that this has reached so many people. A few of the lines have changed but the message is as powerful as when it was first inspired.
