My Closest Companion Poem by Walter Killeen

My Closest Companion

Rating: 0.8

For the rest of my life dear,
I want you to be,
my closest companion and all you can be.
To fill our dreams with just you and with me,
together for always as meant to be.
I'll love you and hold you but let you be free…
to hold me forever always to be.
My Dear I do love you and want you to be
my closest companion, just you and me.
But as our lives grow together, I'll want you to see,
that with children and family, our riches will be.
My dear I do love you and want you to be, my closest
companion... when we are three.
Life will bring us much joy and sorrow for free,
but with you by my side dear, happy we'll be.
My dear I do love you and want you to be
my closest companion...
my closest companion...

My dear I do love you and want you to be
my closest companion and all you can be!

This was originally written for my wife. It has been sung at several of my children's weddings!
