The Humble Heart Poem by Alex Lane

The Humble Heart

The story starts in moonlight born
the son of the stars
the upcoming dawn
into lovers nest comes the greatest bless
and remained until the dawn...
Ages pass before the boy
can become a man
the joyous shepherd calls
to his little lambs
if he had the choice of love
he'd probably turn it down
and given his own temple
he'd burn it to the ground
humble beginnings honour themselves.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I don't know what inspired this poem, seems to have direct ties to Christian beliefs but at the same time lampoons them.
