The Great Adventure Poem by ruzolina seess

The Great Adventure

He was young boy with an old guitar
Playing empty songs with soulless smile
He had a look of mellow rock'n'roll star
Self described as an ordinary guy

She came along with nothing to hide
Scarred but proudly walked through her life
Spotted him as she entered the bar
She knew she had to have him for a while

It was supposed to be the great adventure
Light breeze on cheeky smile
Green grass and clear blue sky
Instead it was a cold long winter
Heavy clouds and sleepless nights
For this is the end of chasing kites

He showed her careless easy going style
She fell for it wonder could she be more blithe
Soon everything seemed to fit just right
They were ready to burst into delight

Suddenly he started to back down
No trace of him, not even a sound
What could have been must pass by
All she wanted was him to say goodbye

It was supposed to be the great adventure
Light breeze on cheeky smile
Green grass and clear blue sky
Instead it was a cold long winter
Heavy clouds and sleepless nights
For this is the end of chasing kites
