The Grand Writer Poem by Ernestine Northover

The Grand Writer

Rating: 5.0

Auditioning upon the stage of life,
Act your part, use great confidence and pride.
Drama is there of gladness and of strife,
The script itself may take you for a ride.

But if you play it with a happy mind,
Give a performance that is right on cue,
Whilst leaving all your tensions far behind,
The loud applause will surely be for you.

When the finale comes, and curtains fall,
You will have achieved the grand writer’s aim,
That having trod the boards giving your all,
The ‘Oscar’ will be there for you to claim.
